Words you will see on an application
Short definitions. The full rules for any program are still the funder's notice.
- NOFO
- Notice of Funding Opportunity. The announcement that a grant is open and how to apply.
- EIN
- Employer Identification Number. The tax ID funders use to identify an organisation.
- Eligibility
- The rules for who may apply, and what the project must include.
- Match
- Money or in-kind support the applicant contributes alongside the grant.
- Indirect costs
- Shared costs of running the organisation, such as rent and administration.
- Award
- A grant that has been approved and must be managed through closeout.
